Its a great improvement! I feel that all my hard work i put in setting up Team Razers wasn't in vain. We were only 3 points behind the 3rd place, which is already a very good improvement since we were a pathetic 10th last year. Rock on Razers, love you all!

Here's our preview/rehearsal in our hall.. We chui-ded during the competition, so I sent you our best run!

I can't express enough gratitude for you guys holding out throughout the last week of training. Yeap, it was. But as usual hot. Then again, it's Singapore.

Okie, that's not the point.

So let's get to the point.

Was just sitting right there at the platform waiting for the train to come when this Uncle sat right there beside me and started talking to me. About my education. About my life. About me.
I don't why, and I don't want to call him crazy or nuts, but maybe he's just erm...friendly. Too friendly in fact.
I should have walked away, but decided against that. The train was coming soon anyway so maybe we'll just chat till then. Basically the conversation was about me so yea, from my age to my school to my bachelorhood. Not that they are things worth hiding so no harm telling him, he went on to guess that I was waiting for my girlfriend, or at the very least a female friend, and as a matter of fact, I was NOT waiting for any homosapien of the opposite sex. Sorry uncle, good guess but...

And oh, somehow I get this alot. Like many mates out there, he actually thought that I was a Malay. So much so that he confessed later that he was contemplating speaking to me in Malay. Not that there is anything bad in that, but, I don't know why people think so. I'll just keep it at that. Besides, I like the element of surprise. Oh yea boy.

The mats say I don't look like one of them and the chinese say I don't look chinese either. Okie, so I'm confused. But no matter. That's that. We'll just leave it.

Ben

"Hey guys look! That Malay can speak mandarin damn well can!!~ "
- A certain football-playing Chinese at Telok Blangah

And I swear it's freaking true! That is what I think. Don't get me wrong, there are wonderful numbers in this album. Especially the 1st 3 tracks: 牛仔很忙, 彩虹 and 青花瓷. Its the perfect way to start the album, and I was convinced that this might be a bloody good album.

牛仔很忙 was well done. Totally different and its refreshing.
青花瓷: Chinese-themed with traditional instruments, I love this track.

But the 4th and 9th track, 阳光宅男 and 甜甜的, respectively, spoiled everything. Catchy but nothing else.

Pop rock and Jay.

Somethings just don't work. And they never will.

1) He does not have a pop rock voice. (And he probably won't have)
2) Its just not him.

At least the remaining tracks saved him some grace. 2.75 over 5.

It's his 8th or 9th album already, and I was expecting something wonderful. Not only did he pen pop rocks, there wasn't any flow in this album. In my opinion, the track line-ups are messed up.

1st Linkin Park, now Jay.

Ben

Typesetter's note: The author is prepared that many hardcore fans might start flaming him but he just did not like what he hears and gave a overall review of what he thought of the album as a whole. He still, however, enjoys the tracks 彩虹 and青花瓷 just like everyone else and will still buy the album when its released.

What Color Are You?

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' You should try taking it as TRUTHFULLY as you can bring yourself to. This kinda brings me back to those old days in NHSS where we were mad over magic cards. They offer you a myriad of builds and stacks, and the limitation to your deck is only ur creativity. This is why games like these never die, they are so simple, yet you can concoct up never thought before tactics and methods and builds.

Same goes for DOTA, which explains its success this way. You don't need fantastic graphics and game mechanics. All you need is evolution and personalization. As long as they are fulfilled, it can almost be ensured they can last ages unless their developer dies or screws up.

Everybody jia you for your exams!

Kaibin

The Rain, the Sun and the Polyclinics.

The weather never fails to surprise me.

It can be egg-cooking-on-the-floor for 1 whole week, and the following week, 7 days of reservoir refilling. Not only that, it can be burning for 4-5 hours, then raining the next 4-5. I don't know if I should be happy about this.

This is exactly the kind of weather that causes your nearest polyclinics to be packed with people. Unfortunately, the nearest polyclinic from my place is the one that has the longest average waiting time. Statistically proven and widely publicized. 120-140 minutes if I am not wrong. That long just to seek professional help. Going to the polyclinic is a TORTURE. The wait is even more uncomfortable that the illness itself and going to the polyclinic these days reminds me of queuing up for freebies.

Queues at CCK polyclinic starts as early as 630am. I achieved this in hall using NTU's link, downloading through www.gameaxis.com, a local gaming/downloading site.

1mbps = 125 KB/s

So if i can get average 5 mb/s, it means NTU's local link is abt 50+ mbps.

Wow, imagine starhub's maxonline ultimate at 100mbps.... 12.5 MB per second! Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of State, Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, a veteran MP of Singapore and an Alumni of NTU, has coincided her surname with the famous "ユフォォォォォォォ~！” (Yu-Foooooooo) outburst, overused in HG's vocabulary. "Foooo~" has already been derided as "capalang usage" by several Anti-Homosexuality activists, because HG says whatever he wants before adding the "Foooo~" to end his sentence and doing lewd movements.

When asked about whether Mrs Yu-Foo's surname's identity with a "Hard Gay" or what HG is affectionally called, will affect her credibility as a distinguised Minister of Parliament of Singapore, Student Lin Kaibin, 22, from NTU said: "It is not easy to find such coherence to a well-loved phrase in Singapore's amalgam of surnames, especially hybrid ones. However, the word "YU" which is ”玉“ in Chinese, represents Jade and can be said to represent Wealth. Also, the word "Foo" which is "福" represents Fortune in Chinese. All in all, it is really an auspicious surname to have and I am sure she has the fortune and wealth of being a Singapore MP. I fully support her. Yu Foo!"

We then proceeded to ask HG for his comments. He promptly replied in Japanese : " I am very happy she has adopted my favourite phrase in my Variety Show, and hope she can inspire viewers in her country to support my cause, which is improving the society of Japan. I am not a real gay and I have already bagged Anne Suzuki so Anti-Gay activists stop writing untrue things about me. I am just an entertainer and it really hurts to defend my sexuality. I am going to bed with Anne tonight to prove I am straight. Watch out for our amateur video foooo!" The videoman was quite lousy as he moved near the monitor (speaker) and resulted in serious distortion in the mic pick up of the Cam. Well... I din really think we performed well and maybe because everyone was tired after school. Kexin my lead singer didn't do as well as she could (mainly because the song was not in her optimum range), my voice loud and soft (cos i shift here shift there), Paul got some weird outbursts from his guitar, Yvonne screwed up just a bit. However I think it was quite good though, even though the crowd died. I "kang-ed" everything including Drum sets, mixers, speakers, amps down wif a few of my crew and it wasnt enjoyable haha but its worth the xp of performing in a carpark.

But. Of all things during Mid Autumn Festival.. no moon for us to 欣赏。

I'm Hot. Why? By some farking armor battalion live firing at my adjacent range. For those living in hall, you should get used to it. However, dunno today is some division live firing or what. It's been non-stop since morning !!?! And i can differentiate 75mm tank rounds and 25/30mm BX rounds and sporadic rifle and MG fire... its THAT loud and irritating. And its been consistent since morning. Just like my runny nose.

cos you had a bad day, you're taking one down, you sing a sad song just to turn it around~~~

Oh yes. to add dung to the pile, my macbook pro's battery has started dying on me by totally shutting off current when its at 75%. Now I gotta bring my adaptor to sch everytime. Bring it on!! I can take anything the world can dunk on me.

I have an MCQ quiz in 30 mins time which will have to be done wif a box of tissues beside me.

There's a speck of joy and hope in this fuck. And I FUCKING hate it cos i'm supposed to study for my many quizzes tomorrow and the rest of the week. Why am i pissed? Cos when u have a fucking runny nose it drips constantly onto ur lecture notes and i'm forced to stick a piece of tissue up my 2 holes to dry it. And guess what. It does NOT stop flowing. WHERE THE HELL DO ALL THE FARK FLUIDS COME FROM? How to study !!! Ahhh.

There are a few hypothesis for my state. I always get flu or a runny nose when I go home away from hall. First, I may be allergic to Meow Meow, my unbelievable adorable stray cat. By frolicking in the drains then coming up onto me to cuddle me, I am a germ magnet and thus contributes to my flu. Second, I am not used to the heat at my house. NTU hall is really very cool all day except when the sun shines through your blinds. However, at home, it is baking all the time. When I take a rest on my massage chair and fall asleep, the sun juz bakes me till i leak sweat. That's where the term "Hot Flu" comes. I really think it happens. Your body can't manage the extreme temperature and goes haywires. Kinda like overclocking your body. Hot also cannot, cold also cannot. FLU = Fucking Lousy Uncomfortable ME.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/Rv_zmj-WEHI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/CgjxOD5EYZE/s320/ticket+design+for+csx+edited.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116075545533485170" />
Also, I feel damn stupid and frustrated with myself. I can go ard smashing things up now. I printed 60 tickets for my hall social event spread over 15 pages of EXPENSIVE quality paper my mom bought from Vivo PageOne, but because I didnt consult my financial secretary, who prompty told me that the tickets would be rejected by the Office of Finance, because those circled are not in accordance to the rules.

D A N G.

Wasted $5 on the paper, wasted ink, gonna waste a trip home to reprint the 60 tickets. All amidst my quiz and CA week. Linkoping is a very angry person now.

And I'm still leaking from my nose. Again, this is a musical kind of movie just like 881. But expect more songs and less talk. In fact, 90% of the movie are songs. Unlike 881, where the songs are once sang by our God of Getai, Chen Jin Lang, songs in Hairspray are all originals. Fancy some 70's or sleek dance moves by our dear erm, negros? Seriously, they have some sick dance moves, inhuman body flexibility and vocals that can only be attained by balls-squeezing. Literally.
A dose of 70s rock and Elvis-style music is really refreshing and all of the songs, yes ALL of them are catchy.

If you liked John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever or Grease, then you will like this too. I enjoyed my 70s rock. Groovy~

Might be a bit biased but I think it's worth a 4.225 over 5. This is Rock and Roll, the 70's way.

Ben

A Second Home, A Second Life

Hi all who's already missing me! I've sorta neglected this blog ever since school started! Somehow, it has become a movie review blog?? And music review blog? Haha actually its a good idea to spread your reviews about movies and such. In fact, I just watched 881 with my cheerleading gang. It was actually very enjoyable as I appreciate musicals. It does get boring abit in the end when Little Papaya ____. She did really shave her head, very respectable and brave in my opinion.

I'll show you all my second home, Hall 10 block 51 04-991S. It's gonna be my alcove for the coming semester and next. Having your own single room really beats everything man. I've become spoilt; i'm never gonna go back to a double room if i can help it.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RsXyY8ttoRI/AAAAAAAAAHk/V8bfh-HPaoc/s320/blog1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099748663495598354" />
This is my entrance to my space. Yes Yes Yes blatant notice of my desire to throw pple. Our block just got renovated thus everything is repainted. The toilets are BRAND new! This is a BIG BIG departure from the horrid old toilets which is worse than ANY army toilet. Happily, Ah Tiongs invasions are controlled rigourously this sem, and we have few incidents of shit floating in unflushed cisterns or yellow water incidents.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RsXyZsttoTI/AAAAAAAAAH0/S7zVFPCtlD4/s320/blog3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099748676380500274" />
This is my study table with my macbook pro and dell monitor. I had a really hard time setting up the stuff cos I demand neatness and wires hidden from sight. Pingling should know my obsession with hidden wires wahah. Also, the neatness of my table enables me to study AND play on the same table. Hah try that people. I love the way I can lie down on my bed across the room and watch porn and movies. The perks of single room. No kaypoh roomie to ze siao and banter over what music to play. I mean come on... I play Red Hot Chili Peppers you watch A Hundred Litre of Tears. Anti Climax to the Max.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RsXyZcttoSI/AAAAAAAAAHs/oa0_z-8E3Oc/s320/blog2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099748672085532962" />
Also, I've a digital photo pin up on my Dell, and a photo pin up in my notice board. This idea was taken from a good fren of mine; the wallpapering with random magazine pages with a theme. Nice eh ?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RsXyZ8ttoUI/AAAAAAAAAH8/OtnfcXGe2is/s320/blog4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099748680675467586" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RsXyZ8ttoVI/AAAAAAAAAIE/Mj9QQGRqhFQ/s320/blog5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099748680675467602" />
Now comes to my other region of the room, the music creation region. I drink beer and alcohol on the table, switch on the orange lamp and whip out my guitar and start playing. That is my RBX bass, stripped out of its casing in full glory. On the table are 2 bottles of ice cold Hoegaarden and a Bailey's Caramel. Thats how it goes, block 51 of Hall 10 is an alcoholic block. We have many seniors with collections of Vodka, Tequilla, a 5 litre keg of Heineken etc and we never miss out a chance to drink and cook supper.

Well, there's hall life for you. Its Saturday 3.30am and I still can hear laughter in some rooms while I am typing this. We really got our Bio clock fucking screwed upside down. Now I really have trouble sleeping anytime before 2am. That's why: A second home, a second life. Kinda sucks if you wanna stay healthy hah.

881

I enjoyed this movie thoroughly and I thought you should watch it too. Maybe if you aren't a hokkien speaking person, this might be a no-go. Much of the conversation and singing are in hokkien, and though there are subtitles, it isn't quite as enjoyable if you read the subs. Generally a comedy for the masses during this national day period and I had a good laugh through out. It was really draggy towards the end and I thought it took points off it. And I still didn't understand what the laser-emitting part between the Durian Sisters and Papaya Sisters was about.

The last time I caught a similar movie was Phantom of the Opera, which was like more than 2 years back, and the cinema was almost empty (it was gooooood, the movie). It certainly was plesant watching something different from the usual after more than 2 years but this time round, be prepared for an elderly crowd if you watch it at a cinema near the heartlands. I did, at causeway point.

I give 3.8 out of 5! This musical-movie is enjoyable and the hokkien songs are really kick-ass. This is something different and the costumes in this film are really simply out of this world. Draggy at the end, beware!

BeN

Secret.

Caught Jay's new one on Queen's Day (eh..Saturday actually). It was pure fantasy, but then again, that's what Jay's about AND who cares if its fantasy, its the movies. For a 1st shot at directing and acting, it was very good effort as the movie was very watchable and more or less, I would say its a movie that couples go to (doesnt matter if you didnt go with your partner either), and there were a few lines that were quite unexpected in my opinion. It was really funny at certain parts as well. If you're a fan of nan quan ma ma, expect them to play memorable supporting role.

And the piano battle between Jay and Yu Hao.... Sick.

3.2 out of 5. Its seriously watchable and if you like a fantasy love story, this would be one for you.

Author's note: Everyone got secrets they can't tell....shhhhh! Chopsquad.blogspot.com now has a new look! Well.. looks like i have been neglecting this blog abit (where got.. i still check everyday.. just dont blog only wad).. and is getting some flaming from my kyo-dais (brothers) for it.. So i have decided to redeem myself by spending a little effort on changing the whole outlook of our blog! It now comes with music (courtesy of imeen), a nicer tag board and a space for us to link our friends. Took me quite me quite sometime to put everything together so that this blog wont look as boring as the cows that say mooooo on the grasslands. erm.. pls forgive the lousy simile was the first thing that came to mind. Oh! As boring as "creepy-crawly-man and the not-so-fantastic-foursome" quoting Ben :P Hope this will make the visit here more enjoyable.. Maybe one day we will have 3D games on blogs? For now we will have to settle for just music, tags and the occassional video posts for entertainment.

PinG

Simpsons: The Doooooop Movie

This movie is funny, and that's all it is. Storyline, wait...there wasn't much of a storyline. Just that the scenes somehow links, and spoofs were littered thru-out the movie. Watch it for a hell of a laughter and it's just right at just slightly more than 1 hour and 20 mins.

Overall, its a funny movie and you just gotta love the Simpsons family. They're just a whole lot of fun and dingus-ness. I shall give it a 2.86747542352 over 5. Good fun and it's a great movie to forget a stressful week. (for 80+ mins)

At least i enjoyed more than Linkin Park's new one and The Fantastic Foursome.

Anyway, movies seem better when you're with the right company. =)

To the Uncle that w*nked in the toilet: PLEASE lock yourself in the cubicle and do it till your knees fall apart. Why? From tmr to friday will be NTU CAC Freshmen Orientation Camp, on Saturday till Sunday we have our Hall 10 FOC Senior Camp to test out the games, and not forgetting cheerleading training through the evening AND jamming through the night. Then on next Monday till Friday I will be the GL for block 51. Take note, its 11 days of straight camp with few respites. Sometimes I just wonder for fark I get involved in so much stuff.

Think of it, why am I excited?

Oh cos shucks, today I went hall to jam, and I saw all the Union Camp freshies (namely, all the XLNs - Xiao Long Nus or Dragon Baby Girls) and they are really overwhelmingly overwhelming the guys in terms of numbers and overwhelming the rabbit girls in terms of appeal. Haha don't flame me rabbits, I still luv u all lots lots and I got a cache of juicy carrots in stock for u. Basically, lets get down to stats. In CAC FOC, i've been told there are 80 girls and 40 guys. 2 to 1? Are we BULLS gonna let the TIGERS grab 2 XLNs by 2 hands? Screw off, tigger, bulls got a bigger D. Well tt's not entirely the reason ba, I'm not shallow. (well, at least not THAT shallow) because I always love FO camps. There's always satisfaction in leading a bunch of freshies and building up their bonds of frenships to last thru their stay in NTU. For Hall FOC, it is extremely important for the GLs to forge a strong team spirit, for their cohesion within their block and among other blocks. In a time where the Student Union and Student Affairs Office are so anti-hall, it's important to stand together and repel the dark side and smelly invasion of ATs.

Oh yeah, i think my Hall FOC freshies will see me till they sian. I'm a GL, cheerleader, QuarterJames performer, and DnD scouting committee. In other words, they will encounter me at every corner. I'm like a horror movie ghost; Sadako. Please XLNs, do not be scared when you see a very horny bull.

I mean, a bull with 2 horns.

Malaysia Boleh!!

I know many people out there dislike Malaysia to varying extents, and even though being a Malaysian, I do not blame you peeps. But then again, it pains me to see that Malaysia is not the powerhouse that I think it would have been.

And it pains me even more to witness the shambolic performance at the Asian Cup. Whipping boys, seriously. 12 goals conceded with 1 goal scored. Oh My God. So bad that even the main papers had a big article that wrote: " Malaysian Football RIP".

Never mind that we HAD, believe it, the world's tallest and most plant-looking buildings in the world. 2 of them look like corns and the other looks like a tapioca. Until now, I'm still mystified by the reason behind building them. Complete waste of money. And space. (But we have plenty of that though.)

Never mind that they have the worst planning ever. Who builds a bus stop, in the middle of a grassland, when there is no road? (We do! Period). And its still standing there, in the middle of that grassland.

Never mind Wawasan 2020. For those who don't know, Wawasan 2020 is the aim for Malaysia to become a truly 1st world country by 2020. The chances of that happening? Maybe slightly more than Goal 2010. They should evaluate their documents and maybe change it to Wawasan 2200. From the way things are now, 2020 is impossible, honestly. (Hmm, maybe there was a mistake in typo. 2020. 2200. Very likely.)

And also, never mind that we sell water to Singapore and then buy it back at a higher price. I cannot understand why.

But still, once a Malaysian, always will be one. No matter how I am not able to understand the things that they do, it is still a nice country. Genting ain't that bad. Sunway Lagoon ain't that bad. And we produce our own protons.

Malaysia Boleh! Pertonas Boleh! Proton Saga Boleh!

Author's Note: If you still do not know which buildings I'm talking about. They are the Petronas Towers and KLCC respectively.

Local TV is dead.

I seldom watch tv and probably the only times when i do watch is when there is a live soccer game going on live on tv. Damn, i miss those days. Even more so now...

I just finished the Japan vs Vietnam game on StarSports and was just channel surfing and what i watched convinced me the local tv is going downhill and heading for the worst. I stopped at mediacorp channel 8's "World of Laughs" or something like that, and the program was in one word, thrash. It ain't funny, ain't interesting, ain't nothing. Even lameness has a limit. Oh, and it was broadcasted during prime-time. Goodness. It's prime-time so please show something interesting and take lousy shows off the airwaves and please stop producing these low budget, totally senseless and EQ-destroying shows.

I don't even know you can call it a show. If you want the masses to support local prodcutions, please please please make good tv shows and put some effort into it. I think central is much much better with their line-up of enriching documentaries and please...stop trying to copy taiwanese variety shows if you guys can't even copy properly (and you want to make shows -_-). and I've got to mention that channel 5 has some crappy shows as well.

Which show was it? i last heard it was "the best" in singapore and jb, some even say batam.
I couldn't be anymore pleased that it recently aired its final season.

Spare me please.

Someone, save local tv.

Typesetter's note: Thank goodness that the above-mentioned show on channel 5 is only "the best" in Singapore, JB and to some extent Batam. Because if it were to be aired anywhere further than along the equator, it would certainly have "dominated" the world, and some say, even the universe. Ain't that coolness?

A moment of bravado and self-inflicited-vulgarities

Against all odds, I've decided to do a video recording of the song Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, done acoustically. Woo, please TRY to enjoy it cos i think its quite substandard, but its really hard to do a video recording of singing and strumming together. I had to do about 9-10 takes, cos u make 1 mistake u gotta redo 3 mins of hard work. Also, making a mistake at the last part is the WORST. I got a few clips of profane vulgarity. And this is not really considered good work and I am still very unsatisfied with it; you can hear the singing is subpar, the strumming is jerky etc. Ah.

Anyway Iris is one of the songs my hall band is performing for FOC at NTU Alumni Club during SP nite. The 3 other songs we are still deciding and picking, and jamming is in full swing now. We have the line up now: I Will Survive, My Sacrifice, Iris, Zephyr Song-Californication medley, Hear You Me.

Blatant Hijacking and Promotion

Ben and Pl 不好意思 hijack our blog... for my hall cheerleading vid. smms!!

To Razers: Thanks Daniel Xiulu Thomas Norti Karen for coming on Monday to help out with the routine and stuff, really appreciates it. And your SMSes were damn creative lahh..

Above is the Razers vid to show to the freshies, how give me your comments ah. I think the video source of our HO really sucks.. maybe can change but i quite sian also. I hope you all like this video and the funny bits about thomas in pain. If you enjoy it, the freshies certainly will. Anyways I heard rumors tt Hall 10 guys to girl ratio seriously lopsided, good news to flirty pricks but generally bad news for Razers cos we really need strong bases! Or you can pray that dragon baby girls can fly.

Btw, the T-shirt design has been submitted. To Xiulu: check out the addition to the vid at the end, I'm sure you'll like it.

Anyways, please leave your comments in the comments section of the blog. Can't wait for training to start!

To Chopsquad: Much though I hate Linkin Fark's new Album, I still like this song from Transformers : What I've Done. It seems that there is no end to my hatred for Linkin Fark for changing the direction of their music and I must spam. But this song can really bring out the feeling of the intro, so I bit my lips and put it in anyway. It is THE relic of Linkin Park's past music.

To PL: okay, seems like i've sorta mastered the expert settings for iMovie, the end product not that bad cos it's encoded in H.264 2000kpbs (i mean the end product video, not the crappy youtube upload), and soon everything will be H.264 this H.264 that, it's just so efficient. In the end, I got a pretty high-def file 75MB only, yet the pictures in it are nice and sharp. Now if only the video crap source was shot in HD. Haha i'm really addicted to all things high-def. Now to return to work on the classic Japan vid, high def Ben doing razor ramon fooooo!

Update : I've edited the video with more stunts. This is the finalised version.

Transformers: Extended

Just to add on what KB meant by the aircraft carrier thingy... it was during this part of the movie where we saw the Americans' naval unit and then i suggested that the aircraft carrier could transform too...and that came after the part where i also suggested that the Pentagon could also transform...

really...the carrier transforming into maybe...Carriertron? And with the ability to launch the F-16s on-board at enemies...and those F-16s can then also transform into small little fighter bots called.......Falconus?

And also the Pentagon transforming into a gigantic mobile defense system........Defendsor, with this ultra superweapon that can destroy half a planet...

being a sucker for robots....i certainly enjoyed the movie a whole lot and this how a cartoon/comic adaption should be made into a movie....overall i give a perfect 5/5...(i'm a sucker for robots afterall)

if you already know...i'm talking about creepy-crawly-man and the not-so-fantastic-foursome....

don't be mistaken...i love spiderman...he's my favourite superhero..and the 1st movie was awesome...2nd...still good....and the 3rd....gone down the drain...(to the producers: you made venom looked like a noob when he is actually one of the strongest anti-hero villian -_-) if you're not going to make a 4th movie..then don't even bring him in...and what the hell? spiderman forgiving that sandman that killed his foster dad in just like 5 mins when he hated him for 3 movies?? It seems that comic-to-movie producers are no longer zapalang idiots who make shit adaptations of people's beloved childhood; guess they recognised that movie makes big bucks, and fans want to catch the sequels, generating more $$ for you, so being a zapalang idiot just don make the cut.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/Roo5fvfpssI/AAAAAAAAAHU/RbfyiTlm_8w/s320/200px-Optimus10108pieces.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5082938346928976578" />
Secondly, the models (machines not girls) are just tooooo sweet. Ben was having orgasms and cramps throughout the movie, and as wad i would put, "Collective Orgasms" in the cinema. There was gasps when the autobots chose their models (Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiacs, Trucks, F22s, helicopters, M1 tanks etc) as they were so beautifully modeled. And yes they transform! Imagine your Nokia N95 transform to a killing machine armed wif MGs and a RPG. Lol its in the movie! Shameless advertising though haha.

Thirdly, the action scenes are AWESOME! It has been a long time since I've been awed in a cinema, and yes i can say Transformers succeeded in reviving the boyhood in me. There's Matrix spoofs, batman spoofs, super/spiderman spoofs, it's all included! Great fun! Also, the actors are not crappy at all. There's a lot of humour hidden here and there, and right in your face too.

My ratings. 4.9 our of 5. Why? Because they used Linkin Park - What I've Done as the theme song. Not that its not a good song, but the fact that it was released wif a totally crappy album, deserved it 0.1 pt demerit. TAKE THAT LOSERS!

Must watch for every action-fan buff and military buff.

Btw ben, the aircraft carrier transformer idea was floated, but it was too expensive to implement haha!
"If he decides to helm a sequel, Bay may put in an aircraft carrier character, an idea that was too expensive for the first film.[86]" - from wikipedia.

Tibet : The Tallest Palace, Lakes and Toilets

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RoZ68ffpseI/AAAAAAAAAFk/k7trJqEyuZI/s320/tibet4.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081884409199178210" />
There's no freakin AIR here and yet I can jump so high! I'm back from the roof of the world, 青藏高原 or Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. It was an incredible experience, every bit of it! U get an idea of a super isolated culture and religion (Tibetan Buddhism), taste their incredibly gross ingredient (酥油, or goat fermented milk) which they add to food and tea, smell China's incredibly backward sai kangs (toilet) and breathe the 60%-of-SG-O2-level air. All in all, there's too many things to write so I will summarise. Instead of a lengthy wordy diary, I just post the pics and u enjoy while i browse through the photos.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RoZqV_fpsPI/AAAAAAAAADs/4F2G6xYpuvs/s320/qinghai0.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081866155588169970" />
On the skies above China Mainland, I must add the stupidly small and cramp China Airlines A319 is made to ferry hobbits around.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RoZqWPfpsQI/AAAAAAAAAD0/zUPE9I1hlys/s320/qinghai1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081866159883137282" />
Qinghai Arrival, Tu Tribe Welcome and tts my mom! Take a look, isn't she the absolutest beauty of all basses???? Arrrgghhh.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RoKSr_fpsMI/AAAAAAAAADU/QLjxLdLr4iI/s320/bass2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5080784614103560386" />
She comes with 2 hum-reducing pickups and has 2 EQ settings, most reviews gave it almost perfect score for sounding much more than it costs. Only thing is it requires a 9V battery to make any sound; a minor inconvenience.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RoKSr_fpsNI/AAAAAAAAADc/xU0dyKWKgjM/s320/bass3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5080784614103560402" />
Another view from the top; notice the new Yamaha design at the top? I took a look at the brocheres and new guitars/basses will adopt this design. Dang, there goes exclusivity! Sweet sweet bass, can't wait to bring it for jamming.

Btw introducing the bass player for chopsquad:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O2lavKRvryA/RoKUnvfpsOI/AAAAAAAAADk/sX3zC93sO58/s320/cat1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5080786740112371938" />
猫王。

Ain't she farking cute?? She can slap bass, play godlike riffs and yet laze around all day without practising.

Also, thanks Ben for the trouble regarding the staff/student price issue, he went all out to try and get the bass for me at >$500, a great value, however SHIPAI la, exceed some limit. In the end, I paid $560 for the RBX and a fast fret.

Edit: Went to Luthermusic wif PL to check out. OMG wad a dissapointment Luthers turned out to be. No electric guitars/basses... only acoustic guitar? Wah? Durian Season ah? I wanted to check out the RBX at Luther's but go in only see wood guitars. Zzz wad happened to my favourite guitar shop.

Play! I've packed my bags and cameras and UV glasses and sun block lotion, ready to head to Shangri-La! Gonna take a flight later at 2am to reach Chengdu and Xining, where i'll take the new Trans-Alien landscape Qingzang Railway all the way to Lhasa. Z, it'll take us 3 days to reach Lhasa, capital of Tibet province. Wait, i hear you say... Ah Tiong Land!?? Is Kaibin mad?? But, fact is the Tibetans and Dalai Lama don't really see eye to eye with Ah Tiongs, so I should be on friendly territory. Haha.

Lhasa is approx 3km up in the sky, yes even higher than Taipei 101 and Malaysia's Petronas Twin Schtings. Thus, you can't fly there straight if u want to live, u'll die of attitude sicknes. Great, because of tt I have to take a very Ah-Tiong train and climb up to Lhasa. Woot I'm coming. And also, I'll need long sleeves and lots of sunblock as we're so near to the sun than you! Hope I don't become as chao tar as those dragon-boaters. Hm, I just cut my hair, omg, isit gonna burn my scalp? Sunblock on scalp? Unthinkable!

Hai, 8 June till 19 June, removed from the world I've grown accustomed to, to a place where I'll feed on Llama milk and no beef. So, see you world! Until the 19th then! じゃね！

Btw, I hope by the time I've come back, Pingling would have at least posted AN entry... haha! I have made many new friends, enemies and learnt experiences from this stint, cos its my first sales work experience. This year was as terrible as all PC Shows, crowded streets, indians who just dont know their bargaining limit, totally rude Singaporeans and liars. In fact all promoters are liars.

Working at Lenovo, they pay shit. $40 a day $10 for each laptop/desktop sold. HEllo... either ur margins very little, why are you paying ur promoters 10 measly dollars for something that cost at least 1K and above? Laptop promoters really are the Bangla's of the PC Show, Explain so hard the differences between so many brands, different specs knowledge (CPU, memory, OS, hard disk etc) while others juz focus on a specific product (portable HDD), withstand the fucking amazing flow of sweaty bargain hunters pushing u, tok till sore throat still dont wanna buy, customers who just wanna leech all available gifts..... for $10.

I have frens earning $200 a day selling portable hard disks. If you can sell 6 laptops a day u are good. That equates to $100 a day.

Ten Things I've Leveled Up this PC Show

10. Do not work at a brand u think u won't buy, because others think the same way.

9. Bosses can be stingy, but their wives are GODLIKE stingy

8. The prettier the promoter, the more sales she will chalk up.

7. The higher the skirt, the higher the sales.

6. Uni sch students can NEVER sell as well as non-uni students, especially guys.

5. Indians have the wonderful ability to provide Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound when haggling u for a better deal.

4. They speak 10 times faster then the average person, and 5 times as fast as a poor laptop promoter.

3. People who bring bebies and ostomates in prams and wheelchairs to PC Shows are very, VERY moronic, cos they clog up the whole damned path.

2. Selling laptops to old folks who thank you for your good service really warms your heart, but it colds later after you found out that their laptop spoil the next day.

1. Ping Ling and Ben didn't come visit me, and Ping's old fren.

Thank You

and we've yet to hear form Pinggggggg........................

anyway a big thank you to those who've visited so far and we hope you'll continue to leave comments or drop little messages on the right-hand side box ---------->>

we love a lively blog! and i'm hoping those who've visited, please help us out on this! お願いします!!

今まで、 ありがとう ございました!

this blog, i hope can be something more than just an e-diary (or something like that)...
and so far, we've done a food entry, a places-we've-visited-and-we-think-you-should-visit-too entry, an ah thiong condemning entry (i seriously cannot stand some of them too -_-), a "working for an ah thiong company and making them happy" entry (KB! you made an ah thiong happy!) and a few more random entries...and i hope we can further expand our repertoire of entries so much so that we've got always something to talk about and something for you, our dear readers, to read about!

formalities aside, i thought of doing an album review and so here it is:

i just bought the new Linkin Park album, Minutes to Midnight at a good music store not really near me...and i thought the new album s*cked.. okie...people tend to be biased in reviews so i'm no exception, so whether the album is good or bad, the ultimate decision is still yours...

i thought track 7 What I've done was the saving grace for this otherwise disappointing album, and i thought track 9 Valentine's Day and track 12 The little Things Give You away are worth mentioning.. other than that, this was poor considered to the previous album, Meteora.

at 18.95 SGD it wasn't really expensive and i got a free LP wristband with my purchase...(hmv is gving away posters now) but what impressed me was the pictorial + lyrics book that comes with it...every song was given a 4-7 line introduction and the process of creating each song was also included as well...and it gave something more that just "getting to know the lyrics"....

overall i give it a 2.698675 out of a possible maximum of 5....

EDIT BY KAIBIN : FUCK I CAN'T STAND IT I MUST HIJACK YOUR POST. THIS ALBUM IS HORRIBLE! "HANDS HELD HIGH" IS FUCKING RUBBISH!! AMEN? YES YOU NEED TO ATONE FOR YOUR SINS FOR CREATING THIS HORRIBLE MUSIC PIECE. YOU ALL ATE CAT FOOD WHILE PRODUCING SONG? How's the feeling? Great... I only sold 1 laptop today, bull. Who ask their stall positioning so kanasai, at one corner of the hall, the feng shui very bad. In the end we only sold 50% of wad other Lenovo distros sold, and got told off by our boss for being failures in selling. What to do boss? Most of us are from NTU CAC, quiet and studious, not like other veteran ah bengs and ah lians in other distros. More pork ?

Also, I don't understand, but why do 8 out of 10 potential Lenovo customers are Indian? Girlymannnn!!! I have a special affinity for Indians this pc show. Do I give them the "Mutton goes yay" face? Or did I shout "Woot I'm Coming" at them? Cause it's a yardless day. The only laptop i sold today was to a nice Indian family for their child. type='text'>An informal introduction...

this is for the masses...
i've realised we haven't really did a introduction yet...and i've been getting questions like:"why chop squad?" and how did our "desu desu san kyodai" (the title of this blog) came about...

i'll start with Chop Squad..
well, nothing much about this...its the name of our band and its been inactive since it was formed because of lack of members and mainly, because of the lack of time...kb's in ntu and has been actively participating in hall activities and sometimes it's quite tough to contact him....pl's working and he starts work when most of us are still sleeping....and as for me...i'm working retail hours and weekends are pretty much burnt..so yea...meeting up is difficult..much less jam...

Kaibin is our band's bassist, although originally he was the guitarist and keyboardist..he's had alot of practice on the bass as he plays bass for his hall band...and might as well play bass for us....

Ping is of course...the vocals for Chop Squad...and nonetheless, considered the most important piece in a band....

And me, Ben, plays the keyboards...i was originally the bassist but due to a serious lack of practice...and after discussion with the rest...came to a consensus that i'll be Chop Squad's keyboardist...

and yes...currently, there's only the 3 of us....

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} Fuuuuuu!!!

and as for [Desu Desu San Kyodai]....it originated from our saturday's japanese elementary class...we tried adding 'desu' to all our conversations and answers and the sensei just burst out laughing and couldn't really think of a way to stop us....well..its all in the name of fun =)

and san kyodai...loosely translates into 3 brothers....
this was taken off an anime, eyeshield 21...from the original san kyodai, Huh Huh San Kyodai that does not have any bit of blood relation....

Cheers!<div about 17 SGD per person..inclusive of 1 x beer and 2 x calpis..woot! and may i state that prices are AFTER TAX...

<a our favourite..
Matsuya (松屋)..if you thought yoshinoya was good..YOU THOUGHT WRONG!
680 yen for the set meal of a large beef bowl+egg and a soup..you break and beat the egg and then you pour it over the beef bowl...raw...and it was out of this world...the soup was almost as big as the rice itself and had plenty of ingredients in it..excellent if you want a cheap, tasty and filling meal...we had it twice...680 yen = 8.70 SGD (you pay around this price at yoshinoya and trust us, the taste ain't anyway near)

<a onblur="try amongst the high-end streets of Ginza, we found this surprisingly cheap and friggin owning ramen..underground literally...
ABC ラメン (ain't kidding, the call themselves ABC)...we ordered the shop's top 3 favourites and understood why these were the top 3 after the 1st mouth... ramen in japan is ALL hand-made noodles and the soup are all self-created recipes that are unique in every ramen store...
prices range from 750-850 yen...or 9.60-10.80 SGD....AFTER TAX
complaining about expensive? think again about the prices you pay at Ajisen, or any ramen store here and the quality of food you get...rip-off shyte...

we had these at a family restaurant (like those you see in animes) off the main street near sensoji temple..
these are the usual fare you get at Sun with Moon (wheelock) or waraku (cuppage center)...and you pay about easily 17 SGD and more...
each set like the ones above costs about 1100 yen (14 SGD)..and sets comes with either sashimi or chawamushi....authentic japanese food made in japan..and how does it taste? no prizes for guessing...

blogger's note: all prices stated above are all inclusive of tax. (5% government tax ONLY)

maybe prices aren't cheaper...but at least it's around the same and seriously, the quality of food is so much better...
you can't find bad food in japan..simply because if any shop makes bad food..they close down immediately...
as we were savouring our ramen(s), pl said this (or something like this): "i can't imagine why we're paying such prices for food like that in Singapore."
i can understand why he said that. Ajisen's ramen are machine-made and are like rubber and how much are we paying? -_-

And there is just one more thing, we have become very suspecting peeps! Yes!
Imagine this ad:

Student lunch buffet at $9.90!

is it really $9.90?
you would always suspect or assume that there would be extra charges and yes...it is always 100% true that we pay more than what we see...
why do we pay 10% service charge when the service we get is naught...and soon 2 % more....

南洋中国人民大学

I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Dear Singaporeans, can you take it?

No matter what PM Lee says, I still cannot take this issue without a fight. NTU WILL receive a petition from us. Since local universities do not give a shit about local students, I shall rant about it.

The bane of my complain is about Hall Placing in NTU. What the fuck. Is the SU trying to kill of hall life in NTU? I think they ARE. HAS system is a pussy magnet. I shan't bore you trying to explain it, but it simply discourages local students from staying. One have to be a chairman of a club/society/cca, AND minimum, stays at tampines JUST TO MEET THE FUCKING CUT OFF POINT. This is totally unacceptable. What about people who work just as hard, but stay in Telok Blangah? What about committee members who have forged a strong bond with each other, only find their bonds broken by HAS? My band, Slang is also at risk of disbanding. And why? So that the tiong-cocks can stay in our halls. Oh my god, what do they ever do to deserve hall placing? Shit don't flush, pee on people's toes, use pantry's microwave oven to dry socks, and worse of all, don't contribute to hall life at all, just lock themselves in their rooms and stink up the place. You people just derive deserving local students of their rightful places in OUR hall. You disgust me. Fuck off, you fucking fuck.

Suggestion to NTU: Please, build some rickety compartments in Lim Chu Kang cemetery or Pasir Laba live firing range for all I care and kick the tiong-cocks there, we will pay for the construction lol. They do NOT deserve to live in NTU Halls. Hall of residences are for RESIDENTS of singapore, not China Students. NTU, if you advertise your "Vibrant Campus Residential Life" again, I will take a high definition video of the shit these PRCs do in hall and shove it in your SAO personnel's face. Seriously, NTU already have an identity problem as being a tiong Uni, and is enforcing it with the HAS. Until they take over all the NTU places and Hall places and truly become 南洋中国人民大学, then will you be happy ah? Sheesh wad is going on with this. I rather more indians come.
