Hey all!! Chopsquad.blogspot.com now has a new look! Well.. looks like i have been neglecting this blog abit (where got.. i still check everyday.. just dont blog only wad).. and is getting some flaming from my kyo-dais (brothers) for it.. So i have decided to redeem myself by spending a little effort on changing the whole outlook of our blog! It now comes with music (courtesy of imeen), a nicer tag board and a space for us to link our friends. Took me quite me quite sometime to put everything together so that this blog wont look as boring as the cows that say mooooo on the grasslands. erm.. pls forgive the lousy simile was the first thing that came to mind. Oh! As boring as "creepy-crawly-man and the not-so-fantastic-foursome" quoting Ben :P Hope this will make the visit here more enjoyable.. Maybe one day we will have 3D games on blogs? For now we will have to settle for just music, tags and the occassional video posts for entertainment.

Simpsons: The Doooooop Movie

This movie is funny, and that's all it is. Storyline, wait...there wasn't much of a storyline. Just that the scenes somehow links, and spoofs were littered thru-out the movie. Watch it for a hell of a laughter and it's just right at just slightly more than 1 hour and 20 mins.

Overall, its a funny movie and you just gotta love the Simpsons family. They're just a whole lot of fun and dingus-ness. I shall give it a 2.86747542352 over 5. Good fun and it's a great movie to forget a stressful week. (for 80+ mins)

At least i enjoyed more than Linkin Park's new one and The Fantastic Foursome.

Anyway, movies seem better when you're with the right company. =)

To the Uncle that w*nked in the toilet: PLEASE lock yourself in the cubicle and do it till your knees fall apart. AND don't look at others when you're at it, it ain't a wonderful sight.

Not that I was looking at him, he was standing away from the urinal and it was not hard to miss it. I was right beside him.

I AM EXCITED.

Tomoro, in fact today by the time this post goes up, will be the start of my 1 semester of pure busy-ness. Why? From tmr to friday will be NTU CAC Freshmen Orientation Camp, on Saturday till Sunday we have our Hall 10 FOC Senior Camp to test out the games, and not forgetting cheerleading training through the evening AND jamming through the night. Then on next Monday till Friday I will be the GL for block 51. Take note, its 11 days of straight camp with few respites. Sometimes I just wonder for fark I get involved in so much stuff.

Think of it, why am I excited?

Oh cos shucks, today I went hall to jam, and I saw all the Union Camp freshies (namely, all the XLNs - Xiao Long Nus or Dragon Baby Girls) and they are really overwhelmingly overwhelming the guys in terms of numbers and overwhelming the rabbit girls in terms of appeal. Haha don't flame me rabbits, I still luv u all lots lots and I got a cache of juicy carrots in stock for u. Basically, lets get down to stats. In CAC FOC, i've been told there are 80 girls and 40 guys. 2 to 1? Are we BULLS gonna let the TIGERS grab 2 XLNs by 2 hands? Screw off, tigger, bulls got a bigger D. Well tt's not entirely the reason ba, I'm not shallow. (well, at least not THAT shallow) because I always love FO camps. There's always satisfaction in leading a bunch of freshies and building up their bonds of frenships to last thru their stay in NTU. For Hall FOC, it is extremely important for the GLs to forge a strong team spirit, for their cohesion within their block and among other blocks. In a time where the Student Union and Student Affairs Office are so anti-hall, it's important to stand together and repel the dark side and smelly invasion of ATs.

Oh yeah, i think my Hall FOC freshies will see me till they sian. I'm a GL, cheerleader, QuarterJames performer, and DnD scouting committee. In other words, they will encounter me at every corner. I'm like a horror movie ghost; Sadako. Please XLNs, do not be scared when you see a very horny bull.

I mean, a bull with 2 horns.

Malaysia Boleh!!

I know many people out there dislike Malaysia to varying extents, and even though being a Malaysian, I do not blame you peeps. But then again, it pains me to see that Malaysia is not the powerhouse that I think it would have been.

And it pains me even more to witness the shambolic performance at the Asian Cup. Whipping boys, seriously. 12 goals conceded with 1 goal scored. Oh My God. So bad that even the main papers had a big article that wrote: " Malaysian Football RIP".

Never mind that we HAD, believe it, the world's tallest and most plant-looking buildings in the world. 2 of them look like corns and the other looks like a tapioca. Until now, I'm still mystified by the reason behind building them. Complete waste of money. And space. (But we have plenty of that though.)

Never mind that they have the worst planning ever. Who builds a bus stop, in the middle of a grassland, when there is no road? (We do! Period). And its still standing there, in the middle of that grassland.

Never mind Wawasan 2020. For those who don't know, Wawasan 2020 is the aim for Malaysia to become a truly 1st world country by 2020. The chances of that happening? Maybe slightly more than Goal 2010. They should evaluate their documents and maybe change it to Wawasan 2200. From the way things are now, 2020 is impossible, honestly. (Hmm, maybe there was a mistake in typo. 2020. 2200. Very likely.)

And also, never mind that we sell water to Singapore and then buy it back at a higher price. I cannot understand why.

But still, once a Malaysian, always will be one. No matter how I am not able to understand the things that they do, it is still a nice country. Genting ain't that bad. Sunway Lagoon ain't that bad. And we produce our own protons.

Malaysia Boleh! Pertonas Boleh! Proton Saga Boleh!

Author's Note: If you still do not know which buildings I'm talking about. They are the Petronas Towers and KLCC respectively.

Local TV is dead.

I seldom watch tv and probably the only times when i do watch is when there is a live soccer game going on live on tv. Damn, i miss those days. Even more so now...

I just finished the Japan vs Vietnam game on StarSports and was just channel surfing and what i watched convinced me the local tv is going downhill and heading for the worst. I stopped at mediacorp channel 8's "World of Laughs" or something like that, and the program was in one word, thrash. It ain't funny, ain't interesting, ain't nothing. Even lameness has a limit. Oh, and it was broadcasted during prime-time. Goodness. It's prime-time so please show something interesting and take lousy shows off the airwaves and please stop producing these low budget, totally senseless and EQ-destroying shows.

I don't even know you can call it a show. If you want the masses to support local prodcutions, please please please make good tv shows and put some effort into it. I think central is much much better with their line-up of enriching documentaries and please...stop trying to copy taiwanese variety shows if you guys can't even copy properly (and you want to make shows -_-). and I've got to mention that channel 5 has some crappy shows as well.

Which show was it? i last heard it was "the best" in singapore and jb, some even say batam.
I couldn't be anymore pleased that it recently aired its final season.

Spare me please.

Someone, save local tv.

Typesetter's note: Thank goodness that the above-mentioned show on channel 5 is only "the best" in Singapore, JB and to some extent Batam. Because if it were to be aired anywhere further than along the equator, it would certainly have "dominated" the world, and some say, even the universe. Ain't that coolness?

A moment of bravado and self-inflicited-vulgarities

Against all odds, I've decided to do a video recording of the song Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, done acoustically. Woo, please TRY to enjoy it cos i think its quite substandard, but its really hard to do a video recording of singing and strumming together. I had to do about 9-10 takes, cos u make 1 mistake u gotta redo 3 mins of hard work. Also, making a mistake at the last part is the WORST. I got a few clips of profane vulgarity. And this is not really considered good work and I am still very unsatisfied with it; you can hear the singing is subpar, the strumming is jerky etc. Ah.

Anyway Iris is one of the songs my hall band is performing for FOC at NTU Alumni Club during SP nite. The 3 other songs we are still deciding and picking, and jamming is in full swing now. We have the line up now: I Will Survive, My Sacrifice, Iris, Zephyr Song-Californication medley, Hear You Me.

Blatant Hijacking and Promotion

Ben and Pl 不好意思 hijack our blog... for my hall cheerleading vid. smms!!

To Razers: Thanks Daniel Xiulu Thomas Norti Karen for coming on Monday to help out with the routine and stuff, really appreciates it. And your SMSes were damn creative lahh..

Above is the Razers vid to show to the freshies, how give me your comments ah. I think the video source of our HO really sucks.. maybe can change but i quite sian also. I hope you all like this video and the funny bits about thomas in pain. If you enjoy it, the freshies certainly will. Anyways I heard rumors tt Hall 10 guys to girl ratio seriously lopsided, good news to flirty pricks but generally bad news for Razers cos we really need strong bases! Or you can pray that dragon baby girls can fly.

Btw, the T-shirt design has been submitted. To Xiulu: check out the addition to the vid at the end, I'm sure you'll like it.

Anyways, please leave your comments in the comments section of the blog. Can't wait for training to start!

To Chopsquad: Much though I hate Linkin Fark's new Album, I still like this song from Transformers : What I've Done. It seems that there is no end to my hatred for Linkin Fark for changing the direction of their music and I must spam. But this song can really bring out the feeling of the intro, so I bit my lips and put it in anyway. It is THE relic of Linkin Park's past music.

To PL: okay, seems like i've sorta mastered the expert settings for iMovie, the end product not that bad cos it's encoded in H.264 2000kpbs (i mean the end product video, not the crappy youtube upload), and soon everything will be H.264 this H.264 that, it's just so efficient. In the end, I got a pretty high-def file 75MB only, yet the pictures in it are nice and sharp. Now if only the video crap source was shot in HD. Haha i'm really addicted to all things high-def. Now to return to work on the classic Japan vid, high def Ben doing razor ramon fooooo!

Update : I've edited the video with more stunts. This is the finalised version.

Transformers: Extended

Just to add on what KB meant by the aircraft carrier thingy... it was during this part of the movie where we saw the Americans' naval unit and then i suggested that the aircraft carrier could transform too...and that came after the part where i also suggested that the Pentagon could also transform...

really...the carrier transforming into maybe...Carriertron? And with the ability to launch the F-16s on-board at enemies...and those F-16s can then also transform into small little fighter bots called.......Falconus?

And also the Pentagon transforming into a gigantic mobile defense system........Defendsor, with this ultra superweapon that can destroy half a planet...

being a sucker for robots....i certainly enjoyed the movie a whole lot and this how a cartoon/comic adaption should be made into a movie....overall i give a perfect 5/5...(i'm a sucker for robots afterall)

if you already know...i'm talking about creepy-crawly-man and the not-so-fantastic-foursome....

don't be mistaken...i love spiderman...he's my favourite superhero..and the 1st movie was awesome...2nd...still good....and the 3rd....gone down the drain...(to the producers: you made venom looked like a noob when he is actually one of the strongest anti-hero villian -_-) if you're not going to make a 4th movie..then don't even bring him in...and what the hell? spiderman forgiving that sandman that killed his foster dad in just like 5 mins when he hated him for 3 movies?? (that translates into 5 years?) "I forgive you".....oh god...and for goodness sake..its a superhero movie...we just want the action and not the lovey-dovey part where the superhero falls in love then gets dumped and turns to the dark side....and then falling back in love again...

and for fantastic four and the rise of a certain metal bloke: B grade superhero action movie...enough said...(the 1st movie wasn't that great as well)

a big thank you to transformers (and bay and steven), where the unnecessary (you know what i'm talking about) was kept at a minimal and all the effort put into designing the robots, churning out good soundtracks and making excellent fight scenes...

Typesetter's note: All robot names thought out are original and the author himself wonders if he should send in an e-mail with his suggestions to Bay and Steven for the sequel... if there is one that is..and the author still has plenty of other suggestions like a transforming vending machine (Vendatron)...just to name one...

Wees!

Transformers : The Movie

Chopsquad went to Vivocity to catch Transformers : THE F**KIN AWESOME MOVIE!!! yesterday.

One phrase : It Blew Us Away!

First, the story didn't suck, as wad me and ben had feared. It seems that comic-to-movie producers are no longer zapalang idiots who make shit adaptations of people's beloved childhood; guess they recognised that movie makes big bucks, and fans want to catch the sequels, generating more $$ for you, so being a zapalang idiot just don make the cut.

Secondly, the models (machines not girls) are just tooooo sweet. Ben was having orgasms and cramps throughout the movie, and as wad i would put, "Collective Orgasms" in the cinema. There was gasps when the autobots chose their models (Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiacs, Trucks, F22s, helicopters, M1 tanks etc) as they were so beautifully modeled. And yes they transform! Imagine your Nokia N95 transform to a killing machine armed wif MGs and a RPG. Lol its in the movie! Shameless advertising though haha.

Thirdly, the action scenes are AWESOME! It has been a long time since I've been awed in a cinema, and yes i can say Transformers succeeded in reviving the boyhood in me. There's Matrix spoofs, batman spoofs, super/spiderman spoofs, it's all included! Great fun! Also, the actors are not crappy at all. There's a lot of humour hidden here and there, and right in your face too.

My ratings. 4.9 our of 5. Why? Because they used Linkin Park - What I've Done as the theme song. Not that its not a good song, but the fact that it was released wif a totally crappy album, deserved it 0.1 pt demerit. TAKE THAT LOSERS!

Must watch for every action-fan buff and military buff.

Btw ben, the aircraft carrier transformer idea was floated, but it was too expensive to implement haha!
"If he decides to helm a sequel, Bay may put in an aircraft carrier character, an idea that was too expensive for the first film.[86]" - from wikipedia.
