Somethings just don't work....
Utterly disappointing.
Yes. That is what I think. Don't get me wrong, there are wonderful numbers in this album. Especially the 1st 3 tracks: 牛仔很忙, 彩虹 and 青花瓷. Its the perfect way to start the album, and I was convinced that this might be a bloody good album.
牛仔很忙 was well done. Totally different and its refreshing.
青花瓷: Chinese-themed with traditional instruments, I love this track.
But the 4th and 9th track, 阳光宅男 and 甜甜的, respectively, spoiled everything. Catchy but nothing else.
Pop rock and Jay.
Somethings just don't work. And they never will.
1) He does not have a pop rock voice. (And he probably won't have)
2) Its just not him.
At least the remaining tracks saved him some grace. 2.75 over 5.
It's his 8th or 9th album already, and I was expecting something wonderful. Not only did he pen pop rocks, there wasn't any flow in this album. In my opinion, the track line-ups are messed up.
1st Linkin Park, now Jay.

Typesetter's note: The author is prepared that many hardcore fans might start flaming him but he just did not like what he hears and gave a overall review of what he thought of the album as a whole. He still, however, enjoys the tracks 彩虹 and青花瓷 just like everyone else and will still buy the album when its released.
